Yes, i would agree, but even then I could point to details that make that more complex e.g. the neglect of the islands (which operated like the "company store" in the song and had little infrastructure), the former removal of the Falklanders' rights to live and work in the UK (while allowing certain foreigners to do so), the removal of a naval patrol vessel from those waters (which would have deterred the initial landing) and so on. All of which sent signals to Argentina.

Many other things but that's a long story.
