Happy day of Thanksgiving!

Post by Cruiserdude »

Happy Thanksgiving to my LDSFF family!
This can be a tough time of year for some folks, please, let's reach out and help all the folks we can to feel the love of our Lord. Even if it's simply just talking with folks and helping them feel that they're not forgotten among this hustle and bustle of Babylon. We see them, we love them, and we care about them.....I went to an adult singles Thanksgiving dinner activity thing and it was awesome to see a bunch of folks serving those that are alone in this season....at same time it was heart breaking to see so many people alone. I was so grateful to see that they even put on an activity for them! These are the folks that are alone while everyone is busy raising their families in their own little worlds. These lonely folks need to know they're not alone and not forgotten....I guess my plea is that we take action to help the meek and lowly know that they're loved and thought of.
And of course a great song to help us 😁

Happy Thanksgiving!
I love how positive you are, reminds me how just looking at things from a different angle can make the world look different!

And sometimes the simplest gestures can make someone’s day. Eg., I was feeling really sad & alone & someone simply smiled and said hello. Another time recently, someone texted me to just say hi. Both times lifted my spirit.

Other times, doing something for someone else has made me feel love - a good feeling.

Hopefully everyone here knows that I care & love you - even those who I’ve had verbal jousting with. ;)

Without a doubt THE best holiday ever to come out of America.

Only to piss it all away the following day on Black and Blue Friday...

In a talk about gratitude Elder Holland quoted this, and I have been thinking about it today...

Miniver Cheevy
BY EDWIN ARLINGTON ROBINSON
Miniver Cheevy, child of scorn,
Grew lean while he assailed the seasons;
He wept that he was ever born,
And he had reasons.

Miniver loved the days of old
When swords were bright and steeds were prancing;
The vision of a warrior bold
Would set him dancing.

Miniver sighed for what was not,
And dreamed, and rested from his labors;
He dreamed of Thebes and Camelot,
And Priam’s neighbors.

Miniver mourned the ripe renown
That made so many a name so fragrant;
He mourned Romance, now on the town,
And Art, a vagrant.

Miniver loved the Medici,
Albeit he had never seen one;
He would have sinned incessantly
Could he have been one.

Miniver cursed the commonplace
And eyed a khaki suit with loathing;
He missed the mediæval grace
Of iron clothing.

Miniver scorned the gold he sought,
But sore annoyed was he without it;
Miniver thought, and thought, and thought,
And thought about it.

Miniver Cheevy, born too late,
Scratched his head and kept on thinking;
Miniver coughed, and called it fate,
And kept on drinking

And Tribrac kept on posting....

I could be more grateful and optimistic, and have less complaining about how things aren't like the 'good old days'.

Psalm 118:24
“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."
