I'm glad they got the money. I hope they took it in cash. The article neglected to mention whether or not the trigger happy officers were disciplined. He is lucky to have lived after being shot 11 times. It appears they were trying to kill him. Makes $3 million look like chump change. Especially after taxes. Attempted murder should have been charged.

Just horrible. Multiple trained grown men can't handle a 13 year old boy... inexcusable.
This law suit won't change anything. There was another incident very similar to this in Saratoga Springs a few years ago. Either their training needs to be updated or it's just another case of mens' hearts continuing to grow cold.

Good catch. Wonder if it was a part of the settlement that they do something like that.HVDC wrote: ↑September 20th, 2022, 10:07 pm Related?

Edit: never mind - that is from 2 years ago. So it didn't do much good then?

It's related. It speaks of empathy. Hard to say what that means. Maybe only shoot a handicapped kid 5 times instead of 11. Police might call that a 50% reduction in police violence.HVDC wrote: ↑September 20th, 2022, 10:07 pm Related?

How about not shooting him at all? I don't think that empathy training is going to do any good.
