Also just a query?

The outlawing of polygamy during the 1800's was that law unconstitutional? (i.e) bearing in mind that the constitution permits freedom of religion, does it not?

Like to hear your feedback on that.

Thanx in advance!
A lot of members don't like to acknowledge that most of the leaders engaged in polygamous relationships went to Mexico and disobeyed

These guys are patriots

These men (and possibly women) made the hard decisions

6 minutes, good discussion in the context of this thread

The house is burning, the children inside are screaming, but the local Constable Plod is telling you there is a NO Trespass sign.

What do you do?

Thats what will be asked of us when we are dead. It wont be "did you sneak a look at some porn". It wont be "did you have a beer" it probably wont be did you send your kids to 5 mornings of seminary for 5 years.

I think it will be "what did YOU do about it"

I for one won't tell people that there is a No Trespass sign.

There are very good reasons why not, one being not wanting to be arrested and sent to gaol.

that's a good reason?? @-) :( Daniel, the three Hebrews, Abinidi, Alma, Joseph Smith, Brigham Young, John Taylor, George Q. Cannon, Heber C. Kimball, etc, etc, show that that is not a good reason to obey the law that goes against Gods

Is that why Joseph Smith and multiple other church leaders evaded "the law" at one point or another after that was written?

It is beyond ridiculous to proclaim that Australian Latter-day Saints are obliged to disobey the law of their land, risk arrest and imprisonment, have financial dealinga with criminal elements such as the Mafia, in order to "to keep and bear arms".

It may do well for all to remember that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a world wide Church, whose membership is not confined to US citizens, nor are Latter-day Saints outside the borders of the US living under the United States Constitution.

It may do well for members of the Lord's church to remeber that God's Law supercedes those petty laws that man has set up in various countries (including the united states of America), that make a mockery of the higher law.

What on planet earth does that have to do with obeying Gods law above all others?

For one who is so oversensitive about others opinions in their posts, you certainly are bold with yours.

Mahonri is on target. Righteous men have died in defense of God's laws - while others feared the arm of the flesh and submitted to unrighteous dominion like lemmings.

Let me propose this scenario: What if (as has been done before) the law of the land decreed that it was illegal to pray. Would you defy the law and pray anyway - and try not to get caught? Or would you mindlessly obey the law of the land and disregard God's laws - and cease to pray???

I for one will do what God commands.
