Re: Lectures on Faith versus Section 130
Please expound upon multiple definitions of "Father", I'd love to hear how you incorporate that. Sorry for the delay in my response, and I’m even sorrier to say that I won’t be posting a more detailed response tonight. I’m planning on it, though. :) For now, I think it would be good to me...

Re: Lectures on Faith versus Section 130
Words have multiple definitions. Any confusion or seeming contradictions about this topic were cleared up for me once I realized that I had to apply different definitions of the same word to different scriptures and LoF. “Father” means different things in different places. So does “Son.” So does “H...

Re: Lectures on Faith versus Section 130
I agree that Jesus is both Father and Son as Abinadi explained in the Book of Mormon and as is mentioned repeatedly in scripture; however, Jesus Christ's Father is also a Father. And it was to His Father that he cried out to while hanging on the cross and to whom Jesus prayed to when he knelt down ...

Re: Ward called to repentance for not doing enough missionary work. Anyone else?
We had a stake conference in our area almost two years ago in which the members were blamed for low membership retention. It was notable to me because the leadership finally admitted that members were leaving the church at a significant rate—something that, up to that point and to my knowledge, they...

He's extremely doomsday, which I don't necessarily mind because I agree society is collapsing but he takes it to such an extent that it's like why should anyone bother getting out of bed in the morning? You didn't move out of Utah when he warned you four years ago? Well, sorry, too late now, the co...

I’m probably going to butcher my thoughts on this. I really need to make a post on my blog about this, and I appreciate this thread as a reminder to do that, but here’s a quick attempt at some thoughts. Maybe some of what I write here will be coherent enough to copy and paste into a blog. :) A coupl...

Before the livestream gets underway, I thought I would just mention that the Q&A will be hosted by Todd McLaughlin. I’m excited about this. If you haven’t heard of him before, he seems to have many ideas that (in one way or another) align with viewpoints of many people on this forum. He’s kind o...

Re: Joseph Smith
Joseph Smith himself said that Adam was second to Christ. I don’t think so. “The Priesthood was. first given to Adam: he obtained the first Presidency & held the Keys of it, from generation to Generation; he obtained it in the creation before the world was formed as in Gen. 1, 26:28,—he had dom...

Joseph Smith himself said that Adam was second to Christ. I think that leaders of the church have said he was second to Christ in order to engender devotion to the church, but that’s not what Joseph taught.

I love this playlist and hope that it helps many here rekindle the vision that Joseph Smith had for the latter days and that it causes each of us to correctly extend our own.

Re: “upwardthought” YouTube Channel
Wow, it is incompre3hensible to me that this man is excommunicated. What a world we live in. Right? Totally upside-down. One thing about God’s word, wherever it is found, is that it is edifying. It nourishes us at a very deep and fundamental level. And I have been so impressed with his videos becau...

“upwardthought” YouTube Channel
Just can’t keep from recommending Rob Smith’s YouTube channel. He’s putting out a lot of great stuff (though, his books are better imo), and the content is just so incredibly spiritually satisfying. I wrote about his channel on my blog: https://thewordofthelorduntome.blogspot.com/2022/10/all-temples...

Wisdom and Womanhood YouTube Series
I just posted this to my FB account and thought I would post here, too: Ask me if I ever thought I would become a YouTuber!! 🙂 For quite some time, I've been working on a series of videos, geared towards young women, on the subjects of womanhood and finding purpose and joy in the wise use of one's r...

Re: "He saves us from our sins, not in our sins"
Nephi sure knew what he was doing when he wrote chapters 31 and 32 in 2 Nephi. As soon as we encounter Christ—meaning the idea of Christ, or the idea that a man can be perfectly obedient to God—we make the decision to “believe on his name”—meaning we believe it is possible to make everything about u...

There is a good chance that this will be the last audiobook that I recor...
