Re: What's your excuse for not homeschooling your children?

The homeschool movement (especially the radical strains of it) seem to me to be no different from the monastic movements in medieval Christianity. By seeking higher spiritual experiences through cutting themselves off and sequestering themselves, they are sorely lacking in key experiences we were s...

Re: Women and Plural Marriage -- the Great Re-Awakening?

So here's a scenario to imagine: Pretend that a man breaks into your house while you're asleep, ties you up and tells you that unless you let him do whatever he wants with your body, he will drag your wife and children in the room and torture and kill them before your eyes. You don't have much choic...

They are actively talking about putting in kitty litter boxes for the furrys here. This is a really conservative rural area too. There is no good that can come from a system that even considers such foolishness.

Re: What's your excuse for not homeschooling your children?

We have homeschooled our kids. They know how to do things. From building the house (foundation up) to growing food, plants and animals, actual auto repair, spinning, knitting, cooking etc etc are they academically advanced? By academic standards, no. They don’t know advanced calculus that no one use...

Re: Unvaxxed with Autism? (POLL)

I live near a lot of Amish too. And while they certainly have health issues, many from very straight family trees, autism is not something I’ve seen. While I’m sure there are some Amish kids who have been vaccinated, it’s not the common practice.

Cedar is very cool, peel the bark and let it dry. But have you ever spent time in a cedar building? A lot of people get quite sick from it. It takes a lot to seal it if it does.

Re: Why would the Fed crash the dollar? (rhetorical)

I agree with most of this. They are going for a land grab and power grab etc. the goal is to take everything. It’s pretty doable in the city, it’s pretty doable amongst the most of the gen z kids who have largely been neutered both figuratively and in many cases literally. They are brainwashed to be...

Juneau is about the same as Ketchikan as far as the remoteness and everything having to be shipped in. It still has no roads in or out. There is no such thing as next day shipping. I lived in south East (mostly Ketchikan) for 20 years my wife was raised in Ketchikan. The bigger cities in the north h...

This rings of “we are mighty and our cities are great, we cannot be destroyed in one day”. If there’s an earthquake big enough to take down that building as it was, Built of hand carved stone , then the majority of Salt Lake City will be leveled. The temple will be the least of their worries for a l...

There is no total escape from the system though it is abusive to the land and plants and animals involved. Minimizing the amount you buy in to it is about all anyone can do. I do hate the layer barns. They are disgusting. While We avoid buying commercial eggs when possible though they are in premade...

Re: Poll: Is factory farming immoral?

I don’t like factory farming at all. I raise my own chickens and many of my vegetables. The garden is getting better every year. That doesn’t mean we’re 100% self sufficient but we do what we can. I usually buy beef from a local farmer whose cows live in big fields in a proper herd where they belong...

Re: Greetings from Missouri!

Nowhere is safe. This nation has rejected its God, and has not repented. The judgements are starting to fall on us. That said the lord will not hold an entire state responsible for something that happened 180 years ago in what was an obscure corner on the frontier that they have never heard of. If y...

We moved here 6 years ago. I loved Alaska but we haven’t looked back. This month has been “near record” heat not actual record heat. It’s always hot here in summer. Fall and spring are nice winter isn’t bad with a few cold stretches. The humidity does take getting used to. I’m glad you like it here.

Cool. You’re just up the road from us. We’re down by lake of the ozarks. This is an incredible area. One of the safest places in the nation. I wouldn’t worry about Brigham and his yellow dog. Re: WEF Calls For End To Private Car Ownership

The percent is the duty cycle of the vehicle. That’s how it is measured, by the amount of time each day it’s used. Probably they use numbers by registered cars and don’t count those that sit all the time. It’s not the humans duty cycle. This doesn’t take into account most of the important informatio...

Re: WEF Calls For End To Private Car Ownership

Most cars actually do have a short duty cycle around 3-5%. Meaning most are running 3-5% of the day. I drive around 1/2 hour a day that’s about 2%. 2 hours a day is just under 10%. That doesn’t count weekends. So less. This is still a horrible idea. And many people all drive at the same time so “sha...

Re: Church Attitudes towards Plural Marriage vs. LGBTQ, etc.

The general attitude towards taking the responsibility of family (husband and wife and children) in at least western society has come down to, “what do I get out of it?” If things get tough (and I’m not talking actual abuse) many just bail and move on. “The kids will be fine, they are resilient”. It...

I am not a fan of polygamy and I don’t believe in institutional polygamy. That said I have known people who believe they have been called of God to do so, and it seems to work for them. Putting salt water in the salt lake seems like a bad idea. It is salty because the fresh water stops there. Adding more salt than it naturally should have probably won’t end like they think it will.

Re: Nelson on Gun Laws

The idea of armed citizens was the norm in the United States not many years ago. There was nothing “extreme” about it. When I was in high school (mid 90’s) people had guns in the gun racks of their trucks. Teachers and students alike no one thought anything of it. There were no mass shootings or any...

On Joseph, there is too much conflicting info for anyone to really know. It is quite reasonable for intelligent people to come to Either conclusion as can easily be seen on the many threads here debating it. As to now there is still too much confusion. There is not a one size fits all answer here, other than find the Lord and do What he says. Some will be told to stay despite contradictions, others absolutely have to leave for their safety and the Lords purposes. Lehi had to leave, Jeremiah had to stay, Daniel was carried captive, mulek’s party ba...
