Re: Downgrading of bishops

A development I'm not thrilled with is how many of the bishop's duties are being turned over to the EQP and RSP. This includes a lot of the counseling and pastoral duties, leading to the bishop just being a young men's president with some other duties. When I was a bishop (twice), I was not a good ...

No mention of sealings, baptisms for dead, or endowment in BOM.

I get why people can say those things are not in the Bible (excepting a mention of baptisms for the dead) because the Bible had plain and precious truths removed. But we are told the Book of Mormon is complete, with no errors in doctrine, and has the fullness of the gospel. Yet there is no mention o...

Re: Subtle change to the Law of Consecration covenant in the temple

Maybe I missed something, but Talmdage's writings say a promised blessing was pronounced with each covenant. I have been to the temple over 25 years now and never heard any told after each one. Did he mean something else?

Re: Church Growth

I know someone who is on the strengthening the members committee. They are very vigilant on defending the church all the time and come across as pretty rude sometimes, even though I am sure they feel justified in doing so. Someone questioned them on the church not having much growth and they said th...

We get an email every week telling us what the EQ lesson will be based on. It's always conference talks. Always. Ugh. Sacrament meeting is the same. Haven't been to church in months (except for a baby blessing in another ward). Conference talks for EQ meeting is mandated via the handbook. Conferenc...

I read this about why they use "witness of the name of Christ ". It is from Section 107. "Religious Educator (RE): Elder Bednar, what does it mean to you to be a special witness of the name of Christ in all the world?` (see D&C 107:23) Elder Bednar: The role of an Apostle today is...

They pushed them in areas with zero mandates. What makes you think that wouldn't happen again? Where was that the case? ...zero mandates? [/quote] In Texas, Utah, other places too I am sure, where there were no longer mandates members were still told to wear them when they came to church. I saw it ...

The mask is a leftist’s MAGA hat. No wonder they push it! If the mask requirement returns to church, I hope more of our members will prefer to sit it out at home. After getting over my resentment about not being allowed to attend church without a mask, I was actually enjoying how easy it was to wat...

They'll definitely push masks in areas where mask mandates are had again. They'll leave it to the discretion of the members in areas where mask mandat...

Faith healings can absolutely happen with no priesthood. Faith in Christ is found all over the earth and many of the most faithful Christians I have met are not members.
